Portland. I can’t really say anything aside from I utterly love this city. It gives me the same feeling I had when I arrived in Vancouver four years ago.

It feels so free. The people are friendly and happy. The old brick buildings beautifully restored. Typically American wooden homes with large decks on the front in the sun. They’ve been converted to funky independent boutiques and cafes.

A Turtle’s Life: 25/8

…so I’m busy. If only there was 1 more hour in a day. If only there was 1 more day in the week…what would I do? what could I accomplish? 25/8 Tell you the truth, this turtle is a little overwhelmed with life right now. My timing seems somewhat skewed. Nothing bad or depressing but I live in the slow lane so sometimes catching up with life is a draining process. Oh time…somedays you do not feel on my side. I worry myself over a bunch of little things that are NOT worth the time I spent NOT smiling and focusing on the positive. It is not always easy but us animals of the happy faith just get through with it all. All the blah feelings, the gray colored blanket of indifference, the emptiness of stress and of being stressed…GONE. It just happens. positivity breeds faith; which creates smiles, which denotes hope and hope is true power and enlightenment. Aahhh, the power of writing and sharing with other like-minded animals! I know you feel it too! That is why I write out to you…

A lovely card, recently received from a dear friend.

Which was accompanied by a note that read:

Humans have to use science to bend nature to their will, wookiees do not.

Simply priceless.

Some very nice graphical art from Minjae Lee (via the Cool Hunter).

Really nice colour mosaic effects and vivid splashes, combined with black & white.

A Turtle’s Life: I’m Golden

one of my brighter moments...

...love the golden rays

I have a habit of responding to people when asked “how am I doing,” or “anything else I can help you with,” by saying I’M GOLDEN! Nothing I struggle to come up with as a timely response or as polite conversation but as a matter of fact life statement. Now, I am not so naive to believe that all is right with the world or with me all the time (believe me a turtle does struggle in his day to day operation) but by repeating I’M GOLDEN, I am creating a bond of hope and positive thoughts. Go ahead and try it…next time you have a customer service interaction or a meeting with friends, when asked “how are you?”, respond with a smile on your face and in your heart and watch how it takes people a extra moment to think! Look at their face and see the inquisitive look as they wonder…something about open-ended positivitey really has the power to change. By making a personal, daily decision to live with rose-colored glasses on, the world stays a beautiful golden place…

A Turtle’s Life: Hello and Goodnight

At this point, I have become slightly worried over all the conversations I normally have with myself, inside my head, have become too evolved.  With that, I welcome you all inside my life and my mind and hope that the fodder from my brain makes you smile, laugh, follow and respond back to what is: A Turtle’s Life.

up close and personal with my flaws...
